[Jamil's thoughts on Kalim's circumstances kind of start and end at: what on earth does Kalim have to complain about? If all Jamil had to do to inherit the kind of riches Kalim is in line for was get married and sire a child, he'd do it in a heartbeat (or so he thinks, anyway). So naturally he hasn't given much thought to what it would actually be like to be in that position.
Something about the way Kalim laughs off the subject gives him pause, though. He usually only does that when the topic of conversation is making him upset, and he's the one who'd brought it up in the first place. Unsure why he even cares so much, Jamil scrolls back up and rereads the conversation, trying to figure out what it is Kalim's really asking.
After several minutes (where Jamil fights with himself whether to even ask) comes the response:]
